About Us
Our philosophy here at Long Road Canine Training includes using relationship based, balanced approach utilizing all four quadrants of operant conditioning. How we train is not the same for every dog, because every dog we work with is unique. We want to close the gap of communication and teach you how our dogs "talk".
Our balanced approach utilizes different training tools, however they are not introduced until our dog has a clear understanding of what is being asked. Just like with people, we learn at a young age what is appropriate and what is not - that is what we are implementing with our dogs as well. The world is full of unexpected experiences, and we want you have to the tools and understanding of how to navigate those with your dog. We utilize food, toys, praise and affection, balance in training creates clarity for our dogs.

What Our Clients Say
Bailey B. & Mac
Kelsi has been absolutely amazing with Mac and myself! We’re half way through our private lessons and we will definitely be continuing to see her. Mac has no confidence and struggles with anxiety and Kelsi has made myself and him feel so seen and understood and I’m so lucky to be able to make his life more enjoyable and less scary because of her! She is so dedicated to us both, detailed in his specific needs and accepts my bubby even with his issues 1000% recommend Long Road!
Chris, Lauren L. & Henry
Chris and I were completely in over our heads with our 5-month-old puppy, Henry. We were lost on what to do and felt like we had tried everything without much success. Sending Henry to Kelsi for a two-week board and train was the best decision we could have made. Kelsi was incredible from start to finish—knowledgeable, patient, and so communicative throughout the process. Henry came back knowing more than we could have ever asked for. He’s more confident, and we finally feel like we have the tools to continue his training at home. We’re beyond grateful for everything Kelsi did for Henry (and for us!). We can’t recommend Long Road Canine enough
Becky J. & Piper
Kelsi is an incredible trainer. Piper and I started training with her at 12 weeks. Our intention was for Piper to be my service dog. She tailored our lessons to our needs and we completed our Good Citizen and public Access training by 6 months of age. She gave us all the tools to tackle any distractions or set backs so that Piper enjoyed training and also had down time to play and swim. We were blessed to have Kelsie give us an incredible foundation to build on once we transitioned to task training for my specific needs. Piper is now 2 and half and truly is the best dog. We are complimented continuously on how well he behaves and his tasking abilities. Thank you, Kelsi for being a rock star!
